Vladimir Mikler and Albert Bicol to present at Sustainability Forum

On October 22-23, 2005, the Vancouver Guangzhou Friendship Association, in partnership with BCIT, will host 25 VIPs from Guangzhou’s Construction Commission and up to 100 local and visiting delegates at the 2005 Sustainability Forum in downtown Vancouver.

The event is part of a year-long series of activities celebrating the 20th anniversary of the formation of an official sister city relationship between Vancouver, Canada and Guangzhou, China.

The Sustainability Forum, being held at the BCIT downtown campus, will focus on sharing knowledge about critical issues facing both regions. Topic areas encompass transportation, building design, water treatment, Olympics and urban water issues (reclamation, treatment etc). Speakers from both Guangzhou and Vancouver will present to delegates.

Vladimir Mikler, PEng and Albert Bicol, PEng will both be presenting at the forum. Mikler will present on the district earth energy system for the 2010 Olympics, while Bicol will present on renewable energy strategies for Kwantlen University College.

All sessions will be delivered in English or Chinese with simultaneous translation.
