Cobalt selected for new $24.5M sustainable health care project

Owner: Vancouver Coastal Health Authority

Cobalt has been selected to provide mechanical engineering consulting services for the new $24.5M Hip Health and Prostate Research Centre at the Vancouver General Hospital site.

With an emphasis on sustainable design, the completed eight storey facility will house both the Prostate Centre at the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), as well as the VGH Centre for Hip Health and Musculoskeletal Research. The building will have approximately 100,000 sq.ft. of space for biomedical research laboratories, clinical research units and facilities for bone health, orthopedics, epidemiology, genetics and social sciences.

The project is currently in the concept design phase.
