Cobalt Partner Named Top 40 Under 40

Cobalt Partner recieves recognition for his personal achievement and contribution to the community.

Albert Bicol, Partner, was recently named as one of Building Design and Construction Magazine’s ‘Top 40 under 40’. The annual competition, in its second year, recognizes forty individuals under the age of forty who excel in their professional roles as engineers, architects, contractors, designers, and developers within the AEC community. ‘40 under 40’ considers not only professional achievements, but the individual’s contribution to the community and professional society. According to Dennis Hardman, President of the APA, “the ‘40 under 40’… are setting new standards for excellence in design, construction and engineering.”

Albert, who was made an Associate Partner of Cobalt after only 18 months, is one of Canada’s youngest Partners. Driven by a passion to create a sustainable future, he specializes in the conception and delivery of integrated, sustainable design solutions. In addition to progressive designs and sustainable master planning, Albert also spearheads the company-wide education programs in energy and thermal comfort simulation.

With an affinity for thinking outside the box, Albert’s enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to sustainability has transformed many progressive, sustainable design concepts into a living reality. Driven by his commitment, he actively promotes sustainable design practices within the building community and presents his Net Zero Approach to design. To date, Albert has delivered over 90 presentations, inspiring countless professionals to make more sustainable choices.

Albert’s leadership is also exemplified throughout his responsibility for Cobalt’s US business initiatives. Over the past two years, he has successfully doubled our market share in the US. In addition to securing new work and clients for sustainable engineering services, Albert conducts project reviews for LEED certification for both the Canada and US Green Building Councils.
