Cobalt Partner Appointed Member of Energy Efficiency Committee

Senior partner of Cobalt Engineering, Ken Newbert, has just been appointed a member of the Standing Committee on Energy Efficiency in Buildings.

The Standing Committee was formed following the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC) decision to update the Model National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (MNECB).

Mr. Newbert will join a team of 24 consumer representatives, regulators and industry experts, selected from across Canada, to create the latest edition of the MNECB, scheduled for release in 2011.

Changes to the MNECB will include an objective-based format which will offer new information to facilitate the evaluation of innovative products and systems.
