Goran Ostojic, Senior Partner
“Listening to our clients and translating their unique needs into working systems which create outstanding environments are paramount to our mutual success.”

Goran has 16 years of experience in mechanical systems, focusing on the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Prior to joining the Cobalt Team, he was involved with international projects in Europe, which provides him with a unique perspective on design and documentation here in North America.
Goran believes that high quality customer service is the essential ingredient of every successful project, and is well known for his client-centered philosophy. Holding the belief that everything can either be simplified, modified, or improved, he is also passionate about innovation.
A recent example of Goran’s forward thinking is his involvement with the Vancouver Aquarium Discovery Education Centre. The use of seawater with a titanium heat exchanger and thermal mass for radiant heating and cooling has provided substantial energy savings, which has resulted in the first aquarium in the world to target LEED Gold Certification. This project involves highly innovative integrated mechanical solutions such as rainwater harvesting and synergy between life support and HVAC systems.
Goran embraces a global perspective to extend the usefulness of conventional sustainable applications beyond the current practice. The South East False Creek Athletes’ Village project, which is also targeting LEED Gold Certification, is a prime example of how Goran is using his holistic, innovative design approach to raise the bar.
