Stuart Hood, Partner

“Delivering high performance results means pushing the boundaries of conventional thinking to do what has not been done before.”

Stuart brings 20 years of buildings experience to the Cobalt Team. His mechanical experience covers a wide range of projects including commercial, institutional and manufacturing facilities. Specifically he has completed a number of large research and teaching laboratories, animal care facilities, museums, libraries, teaching facilities, and recreational facilities including swimming pools and ice rinks.

Originating from the UK, Stuart has gained high-level global experience from his involvement in world-class manufacturing facilities in Europe and the Far East. Working on such complex projects has given him an in-depth understanding of the integration of engineering and architectural systems, which is essential to delivering high performance design solutions.

His passion for sustainability was first sparked during his academic years in Europe, where sustainability is further developed. He is proactive in following sustainability practices across the world to seek out progressive technologies and strategies that he can incorporate into his projects here in North America.

Stuart believes that an integrated design approach is the key to achieving true high performance results. He embraces innovation and is constantly adding value to projects by thinking in an unconventional manner. With a practical background in design build projects, Stuart adopts a holistic perspective to produce results that blend innovation and sustainability with practical, cost-effective solutions.
